I am proud to say that I have worked for Tameside Council for over 30 years. As Chief Executive, I have the privilege of leading a passionate truly committed workforce who want to achieve the very best outcomes for children and their families.

Recognising our challenges and high demand on services, we are committed to working with our residents and partners to drive innovation and improvement and deliver the sustainable, quality services people deserve.

Tameside is a place on the up, and we have ambitious regeneration plans that have, and will, continue to bring investment into our Town Centres. We’re investing in our culture and heritage and creating more affordable homes and jobs so that we grow and thrive as a place where people want to live, work and visit.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to create both a working environment and Borough where everyone can achieve their hopes and ambitions.

Our vision and priorities

Tameside council has a vision to create ‘A place where everyone can achieve their hopes and ambitions’.

To help us achieve this vision we have identified five key priorities part of our Corporate Plan that we believe will make a difference to our residents’ lives. It aims to build an energy in our communities and a confidence in our residents that we are delivering for Tameside.

The new Corporate Plan sets the context for the council’s approach to service development and delivery and is supported by a number of key strategies and plans.

Our Values

Our ‘STRIVE’ values are central to the council and underpin the way that we work, make decisions and do business. They are at the heart of everything we do as how we do things is just as important as what we do. They are embedded in our policies as well as the way in which we behave with colleagues, customers and partners. They enable transformational change, whilst driving continual improvement in delivering our priorities. We pride ourselves on living by our STRIVE values.
